HAPPY FREAKING NEW YEAR BREAKFAST CLUB!
It's the year of the space odyssey 2010. WOO HOO!
Officially this makes the breakfast club over 10 years old!

2009 is gone! I'm done with it personally.
However we had exciting things happen in the BC, Kathleen had William early this year. We kicked Maret out sometime in the summer much to the dismay of the male group members. We had a lovely Dinner Club at Louie Bodega and everyone looked gorgeous. Wheeler cursed us from afar but never showed up for one meeting. We had some good guests. We need more this year. Overall the club ran pretty smoothly. And most importantly we ate a lot of good food. I have high hopes for 2010, I think we need another member.

In keeping with the good food tradition, I the Queen has picked Cafe Verde in Pasadena. I made a reservation for 8 at 11:00 so it would be great if you could respond and let me know if you're planning on coming so I can adjust the reservation. It's a small venue.

"Breakfast club makes a come eat rolly poly fish heads eat them up. Yum." The blog was sabotaged but I left it anyway cause I liked it.

Breakfast club is also making it's first official meeting of the new session this Sunday 5 October at 11:00. Arthur's pick is Foxy's restaurant in Glendale. I'm not sure what exactly the rule is if Tia goes into labour this weekend and Arthur misses his own pick, but if that occurs we can discuss it. Technically Tia is the only one with an excuse to miss since Artie's not the one giving birth.

We can all have fun making Paul's breakfast uncomfortable this Sunday (for being so late with his choice), I hear he likes it when people pick off his plate without asking. He tried to find another location as close to Arthur as he could but instead all he could find was Lucky Baldwins (in Sierra Madre). I find this slightly ironic because this is a place Wheeler had so badly wanted to choose and now Paul being the type of man that he is, went ahead and made it his choice. We can all see how much he really misses Wheeler.

I assume Paul went ahead and made the normal 8 man reservations being that he is so late at giving me the location he surely would not want us waiting around. To be honest I'm surprised he just didn't offer to cook us breakfast at Artie and Tia's house.

As always I'll see you at 11:00. Remember this is where we initiate Kathleen II, so bring the necessary items. And then we'll be taking a month off and resume with Artie in October.

It is with great sadness that we say "good-bye" to a founding member of the Breakfast Club. Kevin has been with us a long time and as he may have refused to sign the contracts and protested about everything and anything. He will still be missed as a member. Of course invited as a guest whenever he is around. Let us look back on some of Kevin's finer moments.

Paul on the other hand is very excited to take up the leading role as the members who's turn is last and was acting very eager to be the one where new members are voted in. I'm not too sure if he really expressed sadness actually.

17th street cafe, in Santa Monica. We have a reservation for 11:00 so no need to worry about lines. Parking is a bit difficult but the area is beautiful.

April is a good month to be outdoors and close to the ocean.

Happy March and almost Spring everyone. Your Queen has been very busy lately keeping up with the demands of the heir to her throne, so I apologize for this late notice.

Charlayne again has us driving down to the O.C.. For those of us with brown skin it may be better to travel with someone who isn't as brown. They will accept you better if you do that, or in my case just assume I'm Luke's nanny. Artie has picked his choice for the New Year in special recognition of the Queen being a new mama, Mama's Hot Tamales, which I have two of and use them often, just ask Luke.

I won't make this blog all about Luke, even though I would like to, but I couldn't resist adding at least one photo.

I hope the New Year finds everyone healthy, happy, and a little bit wiser.

J's restaurant information

Happy Holidays Everyone!
As you can tell there has been much discussion about this dinner. As the Queen I have looked deep within my Queen duties and have come to the conclusion that the dinner should still be on for Dec. 1, 2007.
As I am sure that Taka feels the love from everyone, and I agree I do wish everyone could be there, the problem is after Dec. 1, a lot of other members have parties, events, and other plans in general. Trying to get this organized as you can see wasn't an easy feat but the date has been set for over a month. I see no reason to change it.
Our other issue is the Heir to the Throne is growing ever bigger and after January, which is my labor month, I will no longer be committed to making anything, with the exception of the BC on the 6 January, unless of course this little guy has other plans for me. This would have to push the dinner till sometime closer to May or June just to be on the safe side and I think we have put it off long enough. We deserve to have something nice in December.
Also Taka understands and has very lovingly giving us his blessing to continue with our original plans. One of our members spoke to Taka and I relayed to him that we as a club would pay for his Breakfast in January to make up for his loss. Also I propose another summer month hiatus from the BC club and try to plan a dinner, without using our funds, for BC members and maybe some loved ones. That way we have our BC dinner as planned and then something else to look forward to this summer.
Our only problem is the place we decided on is closed on Saturday for dinner. I know this makes me feel like giving up on our plan but I have faith that we can rally and figure out something else. If we can't figure it out by Thursday or at the very, very latest Friday of this week, then we will call off the dinner. And plan for next summer. However there will still be no official BC club for December. If people end up wanting to get together then great but nothing official, no dues or commitments.
And you thought you family commitments for the holiday season were a hassle, :)
Okay so I now leave it to all of you to help rally and make this happen. I'll do my best to help, but in reality that is why I have you, my minions, to do my work.

Ladies and gentlemen (and I use the term loosely) It is our last Breakfast club breakfast till 2008. We are suppose to be planning our dinner for December so start thinking of your favorite place so we can hopefully have a vote on it this Sunday.

Kevin survived the fires and made his pick for Sunday 4 November. He chose Villa Sorriso in beautiful Pasadena. As always it would be handy if we could get a head count before the date, I don't know if Wheeler researched whether or not the place takes reservations but I'll check on it later this week.

Happy Halloween Month for the Breakfast Club
Paul is going Green:
Paul finally broke down and gave me his choice for the Breakfast club in October. I'm not to sure if he is still feeling defeated about not getting to chose The Dish, but (in my opinion) he gave in and chose Green Street. Not that it doesn't have a good breakfast, but come on Paul where's your imagination, your creativity?

Enough said. I'm sure wherever we go it will be fun sinceI will be there.

There is however some news to report. Maret, one of our newest recruits, is being kicked out of the club. This will be her third time missing, and rules are rules. As everyone knows Kevin's pick is in November and technically it's also when new nominee's are voted in, so we'll have decide if she's worthy of joining in again.

Lastly are we still planning on having our members only dinner in December? And what is our new total up to?

Before I give our next location I wanted to let everyone know that we voted at the last Breakfast club to postpone September's choice to the second weekend in September. It was a unanimous vote. Paul is going to choice for September and I will post our notice as usual two weeks prior.

Hello my fellow subjects. I realize I was suppose to post the rules however my busy schedule as a Queen has prevented me from completing this task. I will accomplish this however after the next Breakfast Club. I will also bring in a copy of the rules for everyone at the next meeting.

We also have our pick for the next Breakfast Club. Tia has picked Barneys in Pasadena. The menu looks like there is plenty for everyone. I don't know if there is any way to make reservations but I'll check if everyone responds whose coming and how many people you are bringing by the middle of next week.

Eating Well, on the 4th

As some of you may have noticed the Intern Artoofy made a grave error and posted his choice directly to the blog. Well I have corrected the Intern Artoofy and removed his pathetic attempt at overthrowing The Queen and her duties.

This mistake was also made by one Mr. Wheeler not too long ago, and it is a mistake he will not make again, I am quite sure of that.

Now that business is addressed we can all move forward and start to become excited for the upcoming Breakfast Club. Which will be the first official Breakfast club with the new members. We shall all eat, drink, and be merry, as long as everyone does as I say!

As you may have noticed the title is a link to the exact location, map, and phone number for our next location, Eat Well in Glendale. The Intern Artoofy can make a reservation so it would be helpful to him if people posted if they were coming and if you are bringing a guest. The Lost Souls of the Breakfast Club

Feliz Navidad my fellow Subjects.

Mr. Wheeler announced his choice for the New Year. As always we will meet at 11:00 at the above location on 7 January 07, that gives you a week to recover from any lasting hangovers.

With the New Year approaching, I see fit as your Queen to reflect on the past year.

In 2006
We welcomed another Acosta in the world in March.

We revised the Breakfast club in June, with a wonderful choice from Wheeler. Who for a very short time had a respectable job.

Gina accepted her role and continued to be our treasurer, even though some of the cash was missing, which she claims the Queen owes.

We had a couple surprise visits from members of the ol' days.

The first ever Breakfast Club Blog started in September, which became a therapeutic release for some people.

Paul welcomed Artie into his heart, and replaced Jason as Artie's "special best friend".

I allowed you to believe that under my rule you actually have choices.

The Halloween party was moved to a new location and continued on with it's tradition of scary ghouls, including Paris Hilton asking everyone "did you have one of Artie's pills, they're great!"

Now with the year closing and Holiday's approaching fast. I am here to bring you all reassurance that we will continue to thrive and be strong for 2007.

Remember the next Breakfast club is an initiation for any new members. We can take a vote regarding new members during this time. I have no problem accepting gifts as a way to help me remember you at voting time.

Hello my subjects. I have chosen the spot for the breakfast club. As an exceptional queen not only have I added a photo but also a link.

We will meet at the restaurant at 11:00. I already made reservations for 8 people which includes two guest for myself. We will need to call in advance if the numbers are higher so please let me know as soon as you get a confirmation.

The date as always is the first Sunday of the month, which will be 1 October 2006. We may do the metro again, since it is only one stop away and it means we can walk off the food.

Until then, carry on with your little lives, and I will see you all then.

I am preparing her to one day take my place, soon she will be a Princess of the Breakfast Club. As you can see she is preparing by having people carry her wherever she goes. She also has people feed her and change her. If one of you is lucky I may consider letting you feed me at the next Breakfast Club.

Hello My Good Subjects,

Welcome, Your Queen has finally created time in my oh so busy schedule to create The Breakfast Club blog. I do hope you will exercise your rights as my subjects to comment on the blog when you can. This blog will be used for updates, photos, and location/time only pertaining to the Breakfast Club. If you deviate from this format, actions will be taken. Your opinion as wonderful as you may believe it is, is only relevant if it pertains to the Breakfast Club.

I also welcome you to use the blog as a way of discussing our next Breakfast Club, possibly getting others idea's of where to go. For the first Breakfast Club after this initial entry it will be mine, so no discussion is necessary. I will have a place picked by the 18 Sept. 06. Which reminds me, we now need to have everyone submit, time, place, and location (with address or phone number of location) 1.5 weeks prior to the first Sunday of the Month. We will post it on this Blog and if a head count is needed we can use the blog as a way of submitting our attendance.

Again, I am grateful to have such loyal subjects. You have all stood by me even when times were bad and there was no Breakfast Club. As for the guests we have had over the years, I send my well wishes to you as well, and know you may join the club when appropriate. You will need to have a sponsor and be voted in. Remember if you're not voted in the first time, you can submit an appeal and try again. Of course I will have complete say over the appeal, afterall this still is an absolute monarchy society.

I will ensure that everyone is properly notified of this blog and hopefully we will have some comments added by next week. If you have any photos to submit please submit them to me first and I will post them.
